So today (26 October 2013) went to the local farmers market here in Bangkok, and after, we came back home and were sitting at our computers, just tootling around. I wanted to put on so music so I scrolled through my list of artists. And I found one I haven’t listened to in awhile. Which really isn’t that big of a deal because If I just listen to everything an artists has, it’s takes me a very long time to get through everything, lol. But, any way, I decided to listen to some Billy Joel. He’s good once in awhile.
This is Viconia, a dark elf cleric from Baldur’s Gate. I think about D&D from time to time, and Baldur’s Gate is one of those experiences of old-school D&D that’s hard to shake. It’s as if they found a really solid GM to throw together a story and built the game around it. They released a sequel, which may have been even better in this regard, and the folks who developed those games went on to other creations with rather solid stories in their own right. The games have their flaws, but story and characterization are typically not among them.
As a lot of you know, I’m a huge music lover. My parents have always listened to music as far back as I can remember. I was introduced to hard rock and heavy metal when I was about five (5) years old. When I was in sixth (6th) grade I was introduced to classical music. When I was in my early teens I listened to glam metal. When I was in my middle teens, I started getting into thrash metal. When I was in my late teens, I started getting into rap and hip-hop. I have found a love for many different types of music through jazz, blues, swing, and even some pop and country.
