Learning To Play Guitar

Dom Playing GuitarAs some of you may know, I’ve decided to start learning to play guitar again.  I started a few years ago and only played for about a week or so.  I don’t know why I set it down, and now I kind of wish I hadn’t, lol.  But that’s how life is sometimes.

It started about four (4) weeks ago.  I downloaded an app onto my phone called Guitar Tuner to help me tune my guitar.  This app is good, because I can tune my guitar by matching to the sound of the strings in the app, and it uses my mic to match the sounds, I can use the tuning fork and matching by my own ear.  I can tune my guitar a few different way also.

It’s time for another post from a series of posts I wanted to start from before called Tales of Thailand.  I won’t make posts with this tag all the time, but when something fits, I will try to remember and make a post about it.

Half-full — Half-empty

Half-full Half-emptyOptimists and Pessimists.  They are two (2) interesting types of people.  The types of people are very much the same, but also very very different.  First, let’s look at what optimism and pessimism means.

From Merriam-Webster online dictionary:

op-ti-mism – \ˈäp-tə-ˌmi-zəm\ (noun):  a feeling or belief that good things will happen in the future:  a feeling or belief that what you hope for will happen.

pes-si-mism – \ˈpe-sə-ˌmi-zəm also ˈpe-zə-\ (noun):  a feeling or belief that bad things will happen in the future.  a feeling or belief that what you hope for will not happen.
