Why?

It was a nice ride out of town.  Not too much traffic and some nice stretches of open road.

Memorable events/notes

We started off again at The Deck (Big Mike's restaurant), which I feel is a great starting place.  I just feel that if we get about 10 people, parking might become a problem.  We started off a little late, but not bad.  The plan was to meet at 10:00 am and KSU at 10:30 am.  I really like the KSU idea as it prompts us to leave at a specific time so we aren't just hanging out chatting, which is good, but also, it's nice to get out and ride.  Robin joined us on this ride, which is his first ride on his new bike.  We rode for almost an hour and I decided to take a break, because David and Poppy were on new seats and they hadn't been broken in yet and since we were doing a longer ride this time, it would be better for them and this is also Robin's first big ride.  We weren't quite out of the city yet, but I pulled over for us to stop and have a bit of water and a bit of a break.  I informed them that once we start out again, we would be doing a bit of a loop and then it would be pretty much a straight run to the restaurant and we would be able to get up to about 90 kph.  Once we got back on the road and hit the bit I thought would be good, we opened it up a little bit and I pushed to about 95 kph, and David started falling back, but I believe it was because he was keeping his eyes on Robin, which is good.  I watch David and David watches Robin.  That's how it's supposed to work.  Out side of being quite hot, it was a really nice ride there.  Once we got there, we thought we would have a nice cool place to sit, but ended up finding out that if we wanted to eat anything, we needed to go out to the restaurant part, which was outside.  Food was pretty good.  Then after we ate, we saw that hey a little pop gun shooting range, and David and I decided to have a bit of a go, but neither of us won a prize.  On our ride back, after about an hour, we decided to stop after about an hour and have a drink at an Amazon Cafe.  Once we finished, we got back on the bikes and headed back and didn't get separated until about thirty (30) minutes later when we got separate from David, but Robin stayed with us almost the whole way.  Over all, it was a great ride, just wish we had more with us, but more will come as we keep riding.
