I have secured an internship at NAMI Dupage which is a nonprofit organization very near and dear to my heart. I have volunteered there over the years on and off doing data entry and I even helped them as a barista in their cafe. NAMI is the National Alliance for Mental Illness and they help people with mental illness and their families with all sorts of mental health issues. My internship is kinda unique because I created it on my own. My school did not set one up as it’s 100% online. My degree will be in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) which is my jam. For the internship, I will be creating maps and applications for them to better serve their community needs. I am extremely passionate about mental health advocacy and GIS so it’s a perfect fit!! The dates for the internship will be 3/27-5/20/23 which I cannot wait for. On a related note, I had to create a portfolio for class.
