Currently, I'm reading The Final Empire: Mistborn Book 1 by Brandon Sanderson, and I'm loving it1 I've also recently started the Dresden Files, which I've enjoyed so far. 2 1 Quote
Redly Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I’m reading the final book in a trilogy based on Ireland (my spiritual home and family roots), by Juliet Marilier. Does this include Audible books? If so, I’m also listening to The Passage, first book in a trilogy I started reading a few years back. This book completely ruined other books for me - I can no longer read substandard books. This one showed me what great writing can be like! I loved it. Now the final book is out, I’m re reading the first two but struggling to read, so Audible is the best thing ever. 1 Quote
Timberwolf Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 @RedlyI think audio books count, but that's just my opinion. Quote
Redly Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 @Timberwolf me too! And, good god, the amount I’ve gone through. In a way, audio books can be better than reading books because the narrators can be so good and bring extra life to it. For example, the Angelmaker, Nick Harkaway, comes to life when narrated in a way the book doesn’t. Some narrators are awful though. Some of the best audio books though? Harry Potter narrated by Stephen Fry. Oh god yes. 2 Quote
Timberwolf Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I loved when an R.A. Salvatore book was read by Iced-T. that was pretty cool. Quote
Spyder Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 (edited) I have two books I've been reading recently: Here & There, by Joshua V. Scher There's a lot of talk of about quantum physics and it's written in a style that requires a little thought about what perspective it's coming from at any given time, but I've been enjoying it. Drums of Autumn, by Diana Gabaldon Book 4 of the Outlander novels. I don't normally go for the historical romance, but I love the TV show and after the first half of season one I knocked out the entire series, and am now going through it for a third time. *shrugs* Turns out I enjoy the occasional bodice ripper.
