Yeah, when I first started Japanese, it picked up a number of words quite quickly, but once I started getting into sentences, I struggled a bit. After about 4 months, I found I had to convince my brain to think in Japanese things would go a bit better. The problem then, was keeping it there. I would be ok for a bit, then I would start trying to translate what my teacher was saying and everything just slowed way way way down, because then I had to think about what I wanted to say in English, then translate bit by bit into Japanese, and then say it. LOL. That kind of makes it sound easy, but it wasn't.

I think everybody thinks that's a given. Like to chirp like a squirrel when the moon is full.

What I suggest is this. The person who's turn it is to suggest a books can post the title, author, isbn, (possibly a digital copy and an audio copy) of the book they want read. This gives people the option to go get get the physical book, or download the the ebook or audio book and then we all have 1 month to read/listen to it, then we have 1 week to discuss it.

Finding out this morning that a teacher I worked with for a number of years and retired at the end of last school year passed away last night. She was such a lovely lady, and the students loved her.
