  1. I just watched some of the footage on youtube on the Thai PBS page, where they showed the procession from the hospital, and it still brings me to tears.   I'm hoping I can get a good connection at work later this week, so i can stream the funeral.

  2. that one girl is gonna have a VERY hard life, if she tries to listen to everyone to make sure what she says doesn't make anyone feel uncomfortable....=P heheheheheheh

I love watching these kinds of things......"Why does she always have so many boys around her" =P

  3. There are a great many hot peppers in the world......I'm currently dehyrating 4 variety, Jalapenos, Hot Hungarians, Ghost, and Carolina Reaper.   I want to share a story with all of you...........there once was a wlf who touched drying carolina reapers with his bare hands.....he then touched himself, so he wouldn't make a mess in the lavatory........he spend the rest of the night feeling like he'd contracted a nasty disease from someone unclean.......

THe moral of the story.....don't touch the worlds hottest pepper (even dried) and then touch yourself......unless you like the burn......=P heheheheheh

Thats your PSA for the week ^_^ =P

  4. @fox I would narrow it down by specifying both a time period (make one large enough to have decent data, but narrow enough to be meaningful (50-100 years) and a culture.   As you've expressed interest in both English and Colonial America, you could pick a period in the 1700's, where you could then compare and contrast the differences between English in England, and any differences in how they were expected to act in the colonies.

  5. Thanks guys,

Attached is my first revision, based on all the comments I've gotten.  @Phoenix, @hirondelle called out he percentage issue too.  I'd like to fix it, but I can't remember the percentages, and I'd have no source.   I'm going to just bank on the fact that is was supposed to be an internal proposal, so senior management will be very aware of the turnover rates within the different divisions.  *crossing my fingers that I don't get called on it* =P

Tracey,  as to the comment on repeating myself in the summary and intro....that was the way our book wanted it done.  I'm not used to doing it to that extent.  I'm used to writing an executive summary that rewords it, but, I followed the book on this one.

I'm hoping I don't lose points on the length (she gave us a minimum word count, but not a max, soo.....=P

Oh, phoenix, on the estimate, I'd like to do more exact, but i was trying to estimate the level of effort, and rounded up to give a little more time, but to try to be accurate.   I'm willing to switch a ffew up and add 5 hours, or drop 5 hours.

SO , that said, if you guys are willing again, have the changes I've made improved it?

  6. Ok, my first writing assignment for my professional writing course was to develop an internal unsolicited proposal for an issue that I have identified in my work place.  The draft was due for peer review tonight, and the final is due on Saturday.  If anyone has some time, and is willing, please take a look at the attached document and let me know what you feel I should change, what I misspelled, where I used too many commas, where I was too verbose, etc.  The name of the company is fake (not comfrotable using my real company's name, as if this were real, I'd have done one hell of a lot more research before writing it).

Thanks for any help you can provide.  And thanks for just making it through this post, even if you don't read the file =P

  7. I very much wish I could be there for the cremation to see the mourning cycle find closure.   I was concerned at the impact it would have on my vacation, and I did have to change some plans, but, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a side of Thai culture that most westerners will never experience.  I felt uncomfortable wearing bright colors, until I found a vendor that gave me a mourning ribbon.  I still have 2 in my room.   Was hard traveling on the sky train, and walking the malls, because you could feel the somberness coming off the Thai people, and you could see the tears barely held in, but I did truly feel honored to be able to witness it.  I also felt the appreciation so many of them had for the farang who did their best to honor the king, and share in the mourning.  I can't imagine the loss so many of them feel, but I did get a glimpse of it, and shared in the mourning.
