Okay, @Timberwolf, do you realize that you look a bit like Hugh Laurie in that picture? It kind of caught me off guard for a second. Those are great pictures, @Ren.

Someone please destroy the Hateful Pain Orb!

Well, you've clearly been making up for it, @Timberwolf.

There is a faint hum as a localized portion of air starts to vibrate, or is it the fabric of existence itself? An instant latter a man falls to the ground from the area of that vibration and the sound ceases. He lays there, unconscious but breathing. He looks like he's been beat to within an inch of his life, bruised and bloody.

A big, black panther makes his way silently back into the Woods. He smells the others on the wind and move toward them, sticking to shadows. When he get close, he jumps up onto a large oak branch and lays out on it, watching.

It wasn't? Huh. Go figure.

Right? And leave it to our wonderful @fox to bring up the subject. Love you, @fox.

Goodnight, Northlands.

Free writing can also be very disjointed, random, and highly confusing if you're not the one who wrote it; sometimes even if you are. Don't take that as a vote one way or the other, I'm just pointing it out.

The damnable fog just wouldn't seem to lift. He'd been walking for what seemed like… Well, it seemed like days, but it couldn't have been more than hours. He hadn't been home for years, and now, finally, the war was done. He didn't know what would be left of his home, his family, but he was looking forward to finding out. As he walked, he couldn't help but think that the road should be veering off to the west by now. "It must be this fog. It's messing with my memory." Either that or the years since I was last home. Then he saw the light, faint at first, but brighter as he approached. Still, it did little to dispel the fog. It does, however, reveal a sign reading The Timeless Inn. "Huh. I don't remember this at all." There is a faint trilling whistling sound and something shifts on the man's shoulder. "I know a lot of time has passed, but… He continues on until he reaches the Inn. The building seems to shift at the corner of his eye, but when he turns to see what it was, it seems solid. He approaches the door, reaching for the knocker, but the door opens of it's own volition. He enters cautiously, his hand near the hilt his sword.

The Cafe-Your daily dose of coffe, tea and friends.
Lightningfall replied to Ren's topic in The Great Hall
Ha! I don't even know what all they've given me. I figured I'd wait until I found one that I actually liked. -
The fabric of space and time seem to warp above the flagstones before the Palace of Light and Dark, a fluctuation barely perceptible in the air, as if a faint, localized heat wave. Time, also, seems to fluctuate in the area; motes of dust and insects seeming to speed up and slow down at random intervals. The distortion intensifies momentarily and a figure appears. In that instant the effect is gone. The figure left standing there is tall, thin, and clothed in a dark long coat with a hood obscuring its face. The figure looks around, taking in the palace and the surroundings. It takes a breath. Well, I suppose this is the place.

The Cafe-Your daily dose of coffe, tea and friends.
Lightningfall replied to Ren's topic in The Great Hall
Yeah, I get that reaction a lot at work. Many of my coworkers love their tea. They all think that they can make me a cup that I'll like. So far, nothing, but I'm sure they'll keep trying.
