We watch way too much TV. At the moment the staple is My Kitchen Rules Australia and the repeats of Warehouse 13 which are both on 5 nights a week. Outlander season 1 on Thursday nights and we just watched the season 3 finale of Zoo tonight. Waiting for Arrow, The Flash, Hawaii Five-O, NCIS, and Marvel's Agents of Shield to start up again, amongst other things.

Temple of Low Men by Crowded House. It has some awesome music and I could spend the time trying to figure out what was going on in Neil Finn's head when he wrote it! This Strange Engine by Marillion. Rothery's guitar, Hogarth's vocals and, well...Memory of Water. David Bowie Collection. It's Bowie. It's a double CD. It's got Rock and Roll Suicide and Life On Mars on it. What's not to like?

I've just finished The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. My next will be Career of Evil by Robert "JK" Galbraith.

I made up a short story a few years ago for Autumn. She used to ask me to tell her a "Jamie Story" from time to time. At first I told her things from my childhood, but soon I began to spin silly yarns about silly things and one night came up with a love story of sorts about a young man sent on a quest to find his true love by a mysterious stranger with a golden coin. In the tale he was nameless, the only character I gave a name to was the lady who turned out to be the one he was looking for, and that was really only a nick name. She was called Red, because of her beautiful red hair. Anyway, after a while, I decided to give him a name in my many failed attempts to write this story down and over the years I have extended his and Red's story in my head, and not all of it is a happy tale. From those musings certain quotes have popped into my head that I very clearly heard my young protagonist say and I thought I'd share some of them here with you, though not in any particular order. I give you the quotes of Joshua Deeds. "Do you want to know a secret? I've murdered somebody. In my head. I've killed him a thousand times over one thing he did to me. I told Autumn a story a few years ago off the top of my head and I've been trying to write it down ever since! I wrote it as a poem, but it didn't really work (I tried to mix styles and it messed it up and it was reallllllly long), so I want to write it as a short story. Other than that I've been writing poems and songs.

I want to write stuff. I don't really know what, but I want to create, whether that be visual art or the written word, so I'm going to attempt to keep a blog. The blog name is linked to my user name (square peg, round hole, gettit?), not necessarily anything to do with how I feel about myself or my situation, though from time to time that might be the case. Really, I just couldn't think of a decent title! Anyway, this is where I'll vent, rant, voice ideas and just generally ramble on when the mood takes me. I sincerely hope that what I spit out in this blog interests you and that you'll keep coming back to check it out.
