  1. You are doing a properly incredible job @Tika. My dad's parents spent their final years in a home and I saw what the staff had to endure and also those special few for whom it was a calling. One story that still makes me feel sad to recall was my grandfather had a great relationship with one of the caregivers. They laughed and joked all the time she was definitely his favourite, he lit up when she entered the room. On the night he died he was delirious and hallucinating. He didn't know what was happening and she tried to get him into bed he hit her with his walking stick. He was too weak to hurt her badly but she got some of the male attendants to get him into bed. He died shortly after. She was very kind and said it wasn't really him who hit her but I feel bad for him that that was the last interaction he had with her. He died very quickly and family were called but didn't get there in time. She stood in the room with him while he passed but couldn't get near him. I feel like she was his angel.
  2. Yes it's an opinion piece written by a feminist writer with an agenda. I just thought the consent angle was interesting, one I hadn't considered before. The idea that regular guys might buy something to rape it (doll or robot) is both disturbing and darkly intriguing to me. Bottom line: men a weird.
  3. Haha Love your cover photo.  Love.

Oo. English style cider, not American style? You mean a crisp cold alcoholic beverage, not a heavy juice that can be served hot?

All the other tips still stand, plus you can grab some random image from the interweb to appease the visual members of your fan club.
  13. I also record @Timberwolf's hockey game every Thursday evening and upload them to YouTube. These videos are a bit niche but we sometimes have good highlights... like the time wolf scored for the first time in 30 years. (Scored in hockey that is )
  14. I have a YouTube Channel called Imagine the North. I started well, but have got a bit slack about uploading recently. Please subscribe to my channel and feel free to comment on my videos! This was my first video (uploaded almost a year ago) and I got a bit better after that. But it is fun... I think talking to a camera is pretty theraputic.
  15. Do you have a blog at the Northlands - promote it here? I have just started a new blog called "Rattlepapanna" - it is an audio blog and I made my first post today. It's a bit long sorry - I will ramble less next time.
  16. Wow. Like Timber I had no idea it was this bad. I have experienced years of extreme sciatic-like back and leg pain and know how debilitating, exhausting and depressing it can be, I was actually completely cured by an alternative therapist (an Ayurvedic healer) so never give up hope.
  17. That is a great summary, thank you for posting it. I have looked into spaced repetition quite a lot and it is great for memorising blocks but you have to combine it with learning how to use the blocks. You still have to learn the language - outside of memorising the words or what have you. It is a accessory great tool though, v useful
  18. Yes you can share the one you wrote the other day (that worried me) and the one you said you wrote but was scared to share on FB

Carry a notebook (or have a note app on your phone) and keep a list of ideas of things you would like to talk about as they occur to you. Try and blog regularly - at least once a week, but maybe more. Don't make your posts too long because we have short attention spans (I just did a 20 min recording, far too much) and always try and add pics, because we like pretty things. Especially if you add pics of you - we will read them avidly.
  21. Interesting article here, about a sex doll on display at an Electronica Arts festival which so badly 'molested' by the men who... ahem... viewed her, that she had to be sent away for repairs. The article goes on to say how "The attack on Samantha is deeply disturbing. It’s a blatant example of the violence that can happen when we tell men they can do whatever they want to an object designed to resemble a woman’s body." It also goes on to assert that the whole point of sex robots is that they eroticise non consent. Full article here - well worth a read. Aside from the obvious question of how much molesting you are able to do in a public convention, or whether not it was horny men who damaged her (there has been some refuting). What also interested me was my interest. I found the implication simultaneously very disturbing and oddly arousing (it was written to elicit only disgust / dismay). Not sure it would be prudent to explain why here... but I would love to know your thoughts on the whole debacle.
  22. funny how that happens
  23. She opens her eyes and finds herself in paradise. The colours: gold light, blue sky, azure shimmering light, green leaves. The breeze The smell The sounds As if everything has been carefully dialled in to 'perfect' by a deity with exquisite taste. Her long strong limbs stretch in the grass. A soft voice lingers in her ear, reminding her she is welcome. "Is this my HOME?"
