I think we need to clarify our terms better. I think there are two biological sexes - male and female, but there is also a condition of being intersex which is when you do not biologically 'conform' to one of those two genders. Intersex isn't a pleasant word... it is just a biological term. Gender is current the resulting manifestation of biology - we can change that, these are all man made concepts, nothing is cast in stone. However the reason people are asking to be recognised as other non binary gender is our society is OBSESSED with gender in a way that is unhealthy for all of us. A girl is expected to be feminine (to a greater or lesser degree) play with dolls (to a greater or lesser degree) like pink (to a greater or lesser degree) wear dresses (to a greater or lesser degree) be emotional and sensitive (to a greater or lesser degree) and find boys attractive (to a greater or lesser degree). Boys have their own set of rules. If a boy wants to play with dolls, wear pink dresses, be sensitive and emotional and date boys we consider them a freak (even today) so the only way they can gain acceptance is to transition. Most boys in this situation transition to the 'other' gender... but some are like - woah wait, hormones, surgery, potential loss of sexual function - that is A LOT to go through simply because I want to wear a dress and hold my boyfriend's hand while I cry at a movie. That is why we get things like gender fluid and gender queer and a multitude of arguments and politics around this issue. Imagine a world where we are entirely liberated from gender roles? We can play with what we like, wear what we like, be as tough or as emotional as we like, fuck who we like, marry who we like, behave how we like. Biological sex becomes something that is only important in medical situations... as peripheral to our lives as our blood type. We wouldn't be as obsessed with the words that are used to describe us. Sadly we are a long way from that world, so we have to try and accommodate people's feelings better. I am not a fan of a massive table of pronouns but I do recognize the need to have a 'other' tick box and at least one pronoun that doesn't scream Barbie or Ken.

Tryng to get back is super tough... that is where I am now. But I am starting on Oct 1st if you wanna join me. Sucks that you started smoking again... been there done that. The second time I quit for good... well I like to say that, but mainly I ride the coat tails of Dom's discipline. If it wasn't for him I'd be typing this with a cigarette hanging from my lips all Hunter S Thompson like (nobody will ever convince smoking isn't as cool AF ) I have to admit I used to love your MFP food entries. It would be like: 3 jelly beans, 2/3 of a peanut butter cup, half a homemade banana muffin, 7.5 oz of butterscotch ice-cream, 5 Cheetos, 1/3 cup popcorn - like you asked for 1200 calories of pure joy with no vitamins you prolly didn't know it was public lmao. To be fair my diet looks the same - but without the restraint on serving size. All of the jelly beans, all of the peanut butter cups... etc ah man the pseudoscience is awful.... especially the Plant based whole food v Keto dichotomy. Basically they both work because both pretty much force you to give up processed food. But they sell themselves like religion - if you don't follow THEIR diet (I am sorry lifestyle - diet is a dirty word) you are going to HELL. Actually I can binge on in shell peanuts. Maybe you just aren't trying hard enough. Love you guys... thank you for making me feel less alone in my addictions.

No we are still northern hemisphere so we are heading into our 'winter' (we call it cool season) but it just isn't very cool, unless as Wolf says you are in northern Thailand and then the altitude helps it get a little cool. Like the old colonial hill stations of India and Malaya.

Happy to accommodate. Option 1 Rename Mental Health forum 'Mental and physical health forum' Option 2 one 'Health forum' with 2 sub forums 'mental health' and 'physical health' (or mind and body ) Option 3 Two separate mental and physical health forums (if so please suggest title and location of new forum) Tagging people whose opinion I would like to hear before making a decision @Kenai @Songmistress @SoulDragon @Phoenix @Aliea @Dulcet -
Does Second Life still exist @Ren?

I THINK cutting will be a bit like smoking. The calmness that comes after the cut is simply the very temporary relief of stress caused by the desire to cut. That is once you are addicted. You feel agitated because you want to cut Hun. Cutting will only make it worse. However you need help to stop the cycle... it is a lot to do alone. I wish I was nearer. There are some resources in the UK who can help http://www.supportline.org.uk/problems/self_injury.php is there anything I can do?

Yay @Kittyyou came Thank you!! Many Northlanders have kittens or cubs these days so I am sure when you are able to squeeze a little time you will have plenty of people to share your joys and sorrows with. We are doing awesomely now you are here lol.
